The project aims to strengthen policy recommendations on Agriculture 4.0 frameworks derived from a more significant period of time reading data from ongoing pilots (installed in 2021), the replication of pilots in more areas of the national territory and the inclusion of Blockchain use cases in the study. More specifically:
- Area expansion: The 2021 study on priority municipalities will be the starting point for the selection of new municipalities for 2022. The objective is to reach 100 cases and evaluate the suitability of the use cases in more areas and new crops (Plantain, Cape Gooseberry and Palm), in addition to the previous crops (cocoa, coffe and avocado).
- Readout of collected data over a longer period of time: The 2021 pilots will leave the technology in place and will be able to read out data and recommendations to farmers for an extended monitoring period of more than two months. The initial installation lasted for 6 months, and it is recommended to extend it in order to be able to monitor crop behaviour over several climatic periods and planting and harvesting processes.
- Inclusion of pilots with Blockchain use cases: Due to the characteristics of the implementation periods of the project in 2021 it was not possible to incorporate this technology into the study and it would be valuable to see its behaviour in order to evaluate the results against the models developed in 2020.
