Digital infrastructure can be a complex policy area, and one that often attracts significant citizen and political attention. In this context, this model policy aims to provide cities with a comprehensive foundation to drive or accelerate digital infrastructure provision. Drawing on best practice from around the world, the model policy could be implemented as a policy in its entirety, used by the city as a guide to shape their wider approach to digital infrastructure, or as a resource to inform the development of internal and standard operating procedures. Some aspects of the model policy may also align with local, regional or national legislation.
