Amsterdam is committed to ensuring all residents and visitors, including people with disabilities and older persons, have equal access to our city.
As the City of Amsterdam continues its trajectory into the digital age, it's crucial we ensure technology is human-centered and benefits all residents. This means placing inclusive innovation at the core of our work at Amsterdam For All and across all the programs of my department.
Our partnerships with World Enabled, Cliëntenbelang Amsterdam, and other stakeholders have been a strategic step towards this commitment. Together, we've crafted the Amsterdam for All Initiative. We realized there was still a significant gap in how various stakeholders understood AI and how to apply it to advancing inclusion and accessibility. This AI Playbook on Inclusive and Accessible Cities aims to provide a clear roadmap for Amsterdam and cities worldwide to harness technology's full potential for everyone.
Why this playbook? All citizens, regardless of age or ability, deserve to participate in all aspects of life with equal access to city services, information, and technology solutions. AI, when properly deployed, can help facilitate that. This guide isn't just theoretical; it's a practical toolkit to bridge the digital divide that still exists in many urban spaces.
I am excited to offer the AI Playbook as an essential guide for any city aiming for comprehensive physical and digital inclusivity. It's time for action and this playbook offers the steps to achieve it.
