The University of California, Davis, the City of Sacramento and Wexford Science & Technology broke ground on Aggie Square in early 2022, a mixed-used bio-tech innovation district adjacent to the UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento, about 15 miles from the main campus.

Over five years, the partnership developed a vision to create a bio-tech innovation district and knowledge community in an undeserved area. Phase I consists of a capital investment of $1.1 billion that is creating 1.2 million square feet of development by 2025. A “landmark” community benefits agreement was critical to advancing a strategy for the economic opportunities created by Aggie Square to be accessible to all.
